Step into the magic of animation and bring worlds to life in this after-school class that introduces vital techniques and skillsets for the industry and artform. This is a digital art focused course that offers individualized instruction to students at beginner and intermediate levels. The class will review fundamental principles of animation such as Squash and Stretch, Anticipation, Arcs, and Solid Drawing. Students will learn and gain confidence in using animation software and setting up animation timelines. The main project students will animate in this course will be a Walk Cycle, a standard exercise that also allows students to explore animating their own choice of character design.
