Let's Create and Innovate: T-Shirt Atelier

In this creative class, students will have the opportunity to design and create their very own T-shirt each week, following a new theme, concept, and color palette. Through a variety of age-appropriate design techniques, students will explore how colors, patterns, shapes, and artistic elements come together to create a unique wearable design.

Throughout the program, students will develop an appreciation for fashion, color coordination, design, and creative expression while building confidence in their ability to transform an idea into something they can proudly wear. Each weekly project encourages students to make creative choices, experiment with different design elements, and develop their own artistic style.

What Students Will Experience

• Create a new T-shirt design each week based on a specific theme.
• Explore a different color palette each week and learn how colors complement and interact with one another.
• Develop an understanding of basic fashion and wearable-art concepts.
• Experiment with patterns, shapes, stencils, textures, and decorative elements.
• Strengthen creativity, imagination, and artistic decision-making.
• Learn how an idea can move from a concept to a finished wearable design.
• Take home a unique, student-created T-shirt after each completed project.

Quality Materials

Students will work with 100% cotton T-shirts and carefully selected water-based, permanent fabric paints designed for fabric applications. Once each design is completed, the artwork will be properly set and sealed according to the paint manufacturer’s instructions to help create a durable, long-lasting design.

Our goal is for students to leave each class with more than just a new shirt—they will leave with a wearable piece of art that reflects their creativity and personal design choices.
