This adult course explores the art and practice of handbuilding and sculpting with clay, blending traditional techniques with opportunities for individual creativity. Participants will learn and apply coiling, pinching, slab building, and sculpting methods to produce original works that reflect both technical skill and artistic expression. Through hands-on practice and guided exploration, students will gain an appreciation for ceramics as both a cultural tradition and a contemporary medium.
Learning Outcomes:
Develop technical skills in foundational ceramic methods, including coil, pinch, slab, and sculptural techniques.
Apply learned techniques to design and complete a personal ceramic project.
