Explore the world of pottery and ceramics in this wheel-throwing course. Potters around the world have been using wheels since around 3,000 BCE, and you can too! You will learn the essential techniques of centering, opening, and pulling the clay, and then use those skills to make your own vessel. Come and see what you can create!
Learning Outcomes:
Develop technical skills in foundational ceramic methods, including coil, pinch, slab, and sculptural techniques.
Apply learned techniques to design and complete a personal ceramic project.
Build confidence in creative expression through the tactile and reflective process of working with clay.
Explore the cultural and historical context of ceramics to deepen understanding of its role as an art form.
