Warning: Side effects of this course may include greater confidence, smarter choices, and increased curiosity about the the marketing tricks behind processed foods.
In a world full of flashy food ads, confusing labels, and endless processed snack choices, this course will help kids become confident decision-makers. By implementing hands on games, recipe-making challenges, taste tests, and label investigations, students will dive deep into the science of nutrition and its impacts on energy and focus.
In addition to learning about the composition of foods and the drastic impacts they have on how we feel and behave, students will understand that eating healthy does not have to be extremely expensive. Making smart choices and seeing through misleading food marketing will become all the easier. By the end of the week, they will leave with practical financial knowledge, healthier habits, and maybe even try a few healthy snacks they actually want to eat!
