Students explore the foundations of law, justice, and civic engagement while strengthening reading comprehension, analytical writing, structured argumentation, and research skills. Campers examine legal case studies, interpret statutes, and construct evidence-based arguments through persuasive writing and debate. Through a mock trial experience, students practice public speaking, logical reasoning, and professional communication. By analyzing real legal texts and engaging in courtroom simulations, students develop transferable career skills such as critical thinking, ethical decision-making, collaboration, and professional presentation — all foundational to careers in law, public service, policy, and advocacy. Students also gain exposure to the pathways required to pursue legal careers, including higher education, internships, and public service opportunities. Students will visit local law firms and courthouses to observe real-world legal proceedings and learn how attorneys, judges, and court officials serve the community. This is an off-campus field study included in the camp tuition.
