Students explore both the creative and technical sides of theater while strengthening literacy, writing, collaboration, and applied math skills. Campers analyze scripts, write character reflections, interpret themes, and apply measurement and budgeting skills to stage design and production planning. Students engage in structured rehearsals that build communication, time management, and accountability. Through exposure to both on-stage and backstage roles, students gain insight into the wide range of careers within the performing arts industry — including acting, directing, stage management, lighting design, sound engineering, and production coordination. The academy emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, mirroring real-world production environments and preparing students for future arts-related academic pathways and careers. Students will visit a professional theater to explore backstage production, stage design, lighting, sound engineering, and live performance operations. This is an off-campus field study included in the tuition.
