Students will explore careers in sports science and healthcare while strengthening scientific reading, data interpretation, technical writing, and applied mathematics. Campers analyze injury case studies, calculate nutritional needs, interpret performance data, and examine how biology and physiology impact athletic outcomes. Students engage in structured activities that reinforce evidence-based thinking and problem-solving. This academy introduces students to career pathways in athletic training, physical therapy, sports medicine, nutrition, and healthcare support roles. By learning how professionals assess injuries, track recovery metrics, and develop wellness plans, students build an understanding of both the academic preparation and professional skills required in medical and performance-based fields. Students will go behind the scenes at a local health clinic to observe how medical professionals assess injuries, evaluate patient data, and support athletic performance and recovery. This is an off-campus field study included in the camp tuition.
