Students explore computer science through coding, software design, and computational problem-solving while strengthening logical reasoning, structured writing, mathematical modeling, and technical reading skills. Students analyze algorithms, write basic programs, document their code, and collaborate on structured development projects.
This academy builds career readiness for high-demand fields such as software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, and digital product development. Students learn how professionals design, test, and iterate solutions while developing collaboration, debugging strategies, and systems thinking—core competencies in the technology industry.
Students will participate in off-campus field studies, including a visit to a leading innovation center at the UNLV, where they will explore emerging technologies and observe professionals in action. In addition, students will visit the Adventuredome, where they will explore engineering concepts connected to physics, astronomy, and coding. Campers will also have the opportunity to earn licensing for robotic telescopes, applying technical and scientific skills in a real-world context.
Important Notices: General registration closes on 7/10. Lunch is included in camp tuition and will be provided daily by SAGE Dining. You will receive all relevant supplemental forms upon completion of registration to this camp. All forms must be completed by the time this camp begins.
